As you've read. Things have not been going as well as we would have liked for them to go. So started our day on Wednesday, October 15th.
We went to therapy. Twenty minutes of screaming and crying and coaxing and getting into her face to just get her to bend to 80 degrees. We still had our follow-up later in the afternoon.
We left for our day around noon. Made our first stop at Kathy's Pies in CR. A must stop for anyone the next time you're in CR! Then headed down to IC for our shopping prior to our appointment.
When we arrived they had us do a set of x-rays, which told me that Dr. Wolf had received my letter regarding our concern of the severe inward rotation. After the exam he told us that her bones and structure looked fine. There is still the considerable inward rotation from her hip, but he felt that the rotation we were seeing was because of the lack of quad muscle usage. We could not get her quads to "fire" or tighten. What an answer to prayer. This can be fixed with no surgery. So, he also decided to have her walk with the ability to bend that knee to natural spark the quads. We will also be doing electric stimulation on the quads. But, the biggest answer to prayer was how God used Dr. Wolf to help Sherrianne's fear. He told her she can't hurt her knee. She is in control of how good or bad the therapy goes and that the longer it takes the longer she's in the brace. Her whole demeanour changed when she realized, she had control over her knee and that the knee didn't have control over her. I felt 100 pounds lighter and felt like I was going to be her cheerleader now and not the task driver.
She been walking great and really enjoying bending her knee. Today is our PT appointment. This is our last hurdle. I know we will come through with flying colors because I have prayed that God's angel will encamp around the building, around us and even around the bed that she will be doing her therapy on.
Praise GOD for HIS faithfulness!
Wendy
