WOW! What a night!

It's always amazing to me two watch the weather-especially when it's severe. The pain and agnuish the families must eel at the loss of their homes, cars, clothes, and for some family members and friends. It really puts things into persepective of how precious life is and how important it is to know that your sins have been forgiven and God rules your life. I thank God for the weather personnel that kept on top of everything and for the people that heard the warnings and knew what to do. Seeing the pictures of Parkersburg today and even of north Cedar Falls are so disheartening.

We need to remember what's important. PEOPLE! Yes, we need a place to live and a car to drive, but all those things can be replaced. People can't--don't let today or for that fact any day go by without letting the people in your life know how much you care about them and how thankful you are that they are a part of your "everyday".

Pray for all of the victims of yesterday's storms--keep them and their families close to your heart and mind. Help where you can, do what you can, love always!

It's finally Friday!

Well, Friday's are usually our most favorite day, because we go to garage sales. But alas, if the weather doesn't hold out we won't be going--it's not much fun to garage sale in the rain--now a little mist isn't bad--but a full fledged rain is a little different.

Things are well in the Noyes home, we are longing for more summer days and less rain.

Pray for Sherrianne she has surgery on Tuesday to graft a hole in her eardrum. She's very nervous about it, and I can't figure out why. But as always we will make it through and God will be with us.

Mike's job is going through some changes, so pray for peace as we trust God to provide for us the things that we need.

I have a catering job to finish up tomorrow so that and shadowing at a wedding will keep me busy for the weekend.

Sis is very excited she is going to Nana and Papa's tonight. She loves being there and with her cousins! Thanks Nana and Papa for the little break. We appreciate it.

Our church is getting ready to do a remodel! I'm so excitied--it's going to be so awesome and great way to help people feel welcome and to share God's love.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!!

We love you all!

God's always in control

You know it's always amazing to me how God is always there. You would think by now I would be better at knowing that, but I'm not. I have found such sweet peace falling into God's arms and knowing that Mike, Sherrianne and I are all there and He's going to carry us through this. The other absolutely sweet thing is being able to share this experience with my "sis" Jenni--now it's on a much deeper spiritual level==a level that I have prayed for for many years and am finding to be so rewarding and fulfilling. Even more than I could ask for. God is so awesome and to see and feel Him work in and with you is such a rewarding feeling. So remember when they road gets tough. Fall into His arms he will ALWAYS be there to catch you!

We need prayer!

I knew the day would come but I really am not ready! The knee problem has returned. For those of you who we haven't touched base with for awhile, I'll give you the Reader's Digest Version. Almost two years ago Sherrianne had surgery on her left knee. He femoral groove is to shallow and to very short on one side. Dr. Wolf the sports med doctor at U of I took a piece of her hamstring and tied her patella (kneecap) into place so that it would quick subluxating (popping) out. The surgery was August of 2006. She was 5. We knew that this was not going to solve the problem but we were hoping that it would buy us some time to come up with other alternatives. She has major left hip rotation which is not helping the problem. It's actually aggravating it. We were doing great. For a year and a half, and now in the last 2 months we have had 6 episodes. Now the problem is that the patella wants to go out the other side. Today was the worst. I had to push the patella back into the groove so that she could stand up enough for me to pick her up and carry her into Donna's house. Now, she is 4ft. 7 in. and 75 pounds. That is a lot to carry. We were able to get her settle and everything calmed down, but now I am emotionally spent. This is the time that you fall into God's arms and let him carry you. That's something that is very hard for me to do. Please pray for my sweet angel. I know God has a reason for all of this, but it's really hard to explain it to a 7 year old why she can't run and jump and do whatever because of her knee. It really stinks and it's really not fair. I know life isn't fair, but she deserves to just be a kid.

Please pray that I'll be able to help her understand and that I can disconnect and be strong for her. She's scared to death and I need to be strong.

Thank you all of listening and loving us.

I'm glad it's Thursday!

There is no question in my mind that we are doing exactly what God wants us to do, but sometimes, I do wish Sherrianne was in some type of public school setting. It is so much harder to stay on task when it's a beautiful day and being 7 all she wants to do is play. Now granted--I will have to admit it's also hard for me, because "technically" we are finished with school. But we do "review" through the summer to keep things fresh. The winter seemed so long--for awhile there I felt like "Little House on the Prairie"!! The sun and everything feels so wonderful. But we have to do what we have to do.

I never realized that 7 year olds think they know everything and have the answer to every question whether you have asked it or not. Okay, I'm done!

So, this has been a VERY long week--and will only get longer I'm afraid!! Our only saving grace is tomorrow is Friday and that's our garage sale day!!! Sherrianne and I love to go and see what "bargains" we just have to have!!! Now here's my question to you. Mike's mom got Sherrianne hooked on garage sales. (which is fine) I think she needs to help fund them!! Who out there agrees with me? :-) We really do have a fun time together. What girl doesn't love spending money and then have it be a bargain!!!

I hope you all have a glorious weekend and that you find God near to your heart.

Mom's Day!

Isn't it great being a mom. Now granted, having a major cold on Mother's Day isn' t really my idea of a good time, but what makes it great is when your daughter comes and rubs your shoulders and neck, because she wants to help you feel better. Every once in a while you see those great God things happen and life is GREAT!!!! I hope all of you had an awesome Mother's Day because all of you deserve it!!!

We had a great time!

Friday night, I had some friends over and did my first spa with my BeautiControl. It was a lot of fun! I know that God is going to use this to help women build long lasting friendships as well as take time to take care of themselves. I really enjoy helping people relax and feel good about themselves and their lives. Please remember you as a woman are deserving of pampering. If you feel good your familiy benefits more. I would love to give any of you a free facial with three of your friends!! No pressure to buy, just a time for relaxing and fellowshipping. I hope all of you mom's had a great Mother's Day1

Sherrianne is raising money

Sherrianne is trying to raise $1000 to be able to purchase nets to go over the beds of children and pregnant women in Africa. Each net costs $10 that will cover the cost of the net, food and medical care if needed. If you would like to contribute, please send us a check and we will ad it to our other donations. Wouldn't be awesome to double that!! Thanks for praying and giving!

A proud Mom

Last night Sherrianne had her Awana awards night. She absolutely LOVES Awana. It's such a great experience for the children. She is in the Sparks part which is K-2. She received the Sparks Award last night for completing all three books Skipper, Hiker, Climber. The idea is to do 1 book for each year, but she did all three in 1 1/2 years. I was very proud and so thankful for the scripture that she is learning and how that will be with her forever. I was talking to another mom about how amazing it was to watch them memorize something--you obviously lose that as you age, so I'm in really big trouble!! All of the kids did such a great job. It's wonderful to be a part of a church that teaches Biblical and Godly principals.

Mike is playing softball this summer--hopefull we won't have to make any trips to the hospital, because now that he's 40...it's all down hill!!!! He'll be really sore I'm sure, but he'll have a great time!!

Sherrianne told me last night that I shouldn't say that another man is good looking because I'm comitting adultery. Of course, my ever so helpful husband Mike hides behind the paper!!! So, I had to explain to her that it's okay to think that someone is handsome or beautiful, just not to want them or think more of them then you do your husband or wife. I hope she keeps all of those thoughts as she continues to grow.

Some deep thoughts

I just stopped by my friend Linda's house this morning. It was so good to see her, but it had been way to long. We sat an talked about how it was when we were growing up (in the 90's) LOL! How people always stopped by and fellowshipping was all the time, people were in and out of your home all the time and life was great. I really miss that. I need to be with and feel people. I need to laugh and I love to make people laugh.

Women especially need that time together to just be women. Whether it's a silly movie night, or a meal night, or just sitting around drinking coffee or Dr. Pepper for those of us who can stomach coffee. We really need each other.

I was sharing with her some of my visions for ministering to women and I just get so excited. Who doesn't love to be pampered and made feel special. Who doesn't like to be just a woman, not a mom, or a wife, but just a silly little girl again. I'm so careful to make sure that Sherrianne plays--but I need to play too.

So here's what I want--5 of you to come over and we're going to have fun--If I don't hear from anyone, I'll be calling. I promise it to be a very relaxing night and very fun.

I want to be a better mom and wife and allowing myself time will help to accomplish that.

I want to share one of my favorite pictures of sis. I know I'm biased, but I think she is beautiful!

Pray for us the end of the school year is hard. Hard for me and for her to stay focused.

Don't forget to send me some of your favorite recipes. What a fun way to try new things!!

Love to all of you!

I feel so cool!!!

Okay, so I'm really weird, but this is a lot of fun! I think this could become VERY therapeutic for me. Sometimes you just want to be able to throw things out there and see what happens. I'm really excited about my catering and my BeautiControl business. The Lord has brought three more new customers for the BeautiControl and I haven't even started. If anyone wants a free facial--no strings attached let me know. I really feel this could be an awesome ministry.

Sis has had a great day and has loved being outside. It's so wonderful to feel the sun and the breeze again.

I'm off to start supper and then who knows what?

Love to all!

P.S. Here's the bald guys 40th birthday pix!

Life is finally turning around!

Good Morning to everyone,

Life here is Iowa has final began to slow. There's been some very cool things happening. I've signed up as a BeautiControl consultant. It's AWESOME cleansing products for your body and your face. I feel and look younger, that always does a lot for your self-esteem.

Sis is doing okay, still having problems with her knee, hopefully we can meet with the Drs. soon and decide what our next step is.

Bald guy (as we've decided our dog Bella likes to call him) is doing well. His department got bought by another company but thankfully he still has a job.

I had surgery on Friday--"female" stuff. Hopefully this will help. I will say I'm not nearly as tired as I was which is a huge help and my energy level feels better. But I'm not bouncing back very quickly. Not quite the spring chicken I once was.

Catering is going well, I need to finish up a bid today and get ready for that. I'd love any recipes that anyone has to share out there.

Until next time--

Adios!
