It's so amazing to watch your children "grow-up". Sherrianne has been strongly suggesting that she's ready to start cooking. Now, I'm all for that. Except...I have a pretty good routine for getting supper on the table. But, at some point my routine needs to go out the window and she needs to start learning so, we opted for the opening of "La Sherrianne". The menu include Cheesy Mostaccioli, Garden Salad w/ yellow peppers (which she actually ate), garlic bread and then chocolate Volcano Cake for dessert. Once the Mostaccioli was on it's way the true lesson of cooking...multitasking began. We needed to chop the veggies for the salad, set the table, stir the mostaccioli, brown the hamburger, etc. She did a great job! She listened on how to use the sharp knives the importance of spices and of course adding the special secret ingredient of LOVE!
Mike was not allowed in the house until the supper was on the table. Sherrianne was very excited to escort her daddy to the table for his surprise dinner. She had set the table very nicely making the silverware look like "X's" for hugs and then the very nicely baked Mostaccioli was served and the taste testing began.
Mike was the first taster and loved it--as a proud daddy should. We all enjoyed the meal. Then came the dessert. The Chocolate Volcano Cake--let's just say it proved it's name!! Once all of the clean-up was finished we were able to enjoy a lovely dessert.
